Latest Updated 20/06/2024: Amid the ongoing controversy over the NEET exam, the Ministry of Education canceled the UGC-NET June 2024 exam held in various cities on Tuesday. The ministry said on Wednesday that the decision has been taken after receiving information about the irregularities in the exam and a CBI inquiry has been ordered.
A senior official of the Ministry of Education said that the exam will be conducted again, for which information will be shared later. The official said, UGC had received some inputs from the National Cyber Crime Unit. These inputs indicate that there has been a disturbance in the exam.

More than eleven lakh candidates had given the exam This exam was conducted by NTA on Tuesday in 317 cities across the country. About 81 percent of the more than 11.21 lakh registered candidates appeared in it. NET is conducted in June & December.

More than 63 thousand candidates appeared in the exam from Bihar
More than 63 thousand candidates from Bihar participated in the UGC NET exam covering various subjects. Apart from Patna, the exam was conducted in 25 cities including Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur in Bihar. This time the exam was conducted offline instead of online.
