Latest Updated On 08/03/2025: In Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), backward class, extremely backward class and general female candidates will be considered passed only if they score 82 marks out of 150. Earlier, the minimum passing marks for these classes was 82.5, which has now been reduced. In this regard, the Education Department has released an order on Friday. The department has said that this decision has been taken in the light of the guidelines released by NCTE after the order of Allahabad High Court.

According to the department, in Bihar, OBC, EBC are considered passed on 55 percent marks instead of 60. 55 percent of 150 is 82.5. Therefore, they used to pass on 82.5 marks. But, on the order of the court, NCTE has said that it will be considered passed on 82 instead of 82.5. No other changes have been made in TET. It is known that in Bihar, candidates of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe are considered passed on 50 percent marks in TET. The minimum passing marks for General is 60%.
