As per the order of the High Court, it will be necessary to follow this rule in new appointments as well. This order of the High Court can affect about five lakh teachers across the country. A bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela asked the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to prepare a plan for conducting this examination across the country within four weeks. Detailed information of this action plan should be presented before the bench in the form of an affidavit. The bench said that NCTE will have to take strict steps to appoint teachers up to class VIII and to retain the service of old teachers.
