Latest Updated On 28/02/2025: The draft of two board examinations from 2026 has been approved by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Under this, supplementary examination of class 10 will no longer be conducted. Children who get less marks in the first phase examination will appear in the second phase examination to perform better.

In the draft, the board has said that some subjects will be examined more than once in class 10. If you do not get good marks in the first phase examination, you can appear in the second phase examination. The result of the examination in which the marks are better will be considered final. The board offers 16 academic subjects, 23 skill subjects and 45 languages in class IX and X. Students can choose 2 language subjects, 3 elective subjects, in addition to this, any one subject can be chosen as the sixth subject and one language subject as the 7th subject. A student will be able to take the examination of only 7 subjects.

The board has said that due to the examination being held twice, the duration of the examination will also be reduced. At present, children give the examination of all subjects at one time. Due to which the duration of the exam is longer. But according to the new rule, students will be able to give the exam of some subjects twice. Due to which the duration of the exam will be reduced. The board has said that the current rule will remain applicable for children with special needs. At the same time, a separate exam will not be conducted for sports students.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has given instructions regarding self-assessment of schools on the Saras portal.
