Latest Updated 14/06/2024: The Central Government and the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday told the Supreme Court that the grace marks given to 1563 students appearing in NEET 2024 have been canceled. These students will provide the option to appear in the exam again.
The exam will be conducted again for these students on 23 June and the result will be declared on 30 June so that the counseling starting from July 6 is not affected. Advocate Kanu Agarwal has given this information on behalf of the Center before a bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta. He told the bench that the students who will not appear in the exam to be held again on 23 June will be issued a score card without grace marks on the basis of the examination held on May 5. The NTA had constituted an expert committee on 8 June.

The committee has decided to withdraw the grace marks given to 1563 students and cancel the score card. The report said that 'this anomalous situation arose due to giving grace marks to 1563 students on the basis of loss of time in the examination. The court termed this decision as quite appropriate. The Centre said that these candidates will have the option of appearing in the exam again or giving up the grace marks given to them. The court clarified that the admission of successful candidates will be subject to the final decision on the petitions in which cancellation of the exam has been demanded.
