Latest Updated 10/06/2024: There will be a computer proficiency test for the principals and lecturers of all government teacher training institutes. SCERT has made preparations for this. Principals and lecturers of all DIET, BITE, CTE, PTEC across the state will participate in this exam. Their number across the state is 830. It is mandatory for everyone to appear in the computer proficiency test.
Let us tell you that under the Continuous Professional Scheme, teachers working in government schools of the state are being trained. This training is being given under FLN and ICT. In this, teachers from class one to five are given training at various levels. All these trainings are computer based. In this, training programs are conducted by lecturers of various training institutes. In such a situation, this proficiency test will be conducted to check whether the principal and lecturer of the training institute themselves have knowledge of computers or not.

According to SCERT, the date of the exam will be released soon. In training teachers, lecturers have to organize technology based training programs. It includes evaluation, research, question paper development, curriculum development, textbook review, online course development, e-content creation, initiation, magazine development, smart class, interactive panel etc. For this, lecturers need computer knowledge. This will be conducted to test it.
There will be 40 multiple choice and 12 practical questions
40 multiple choice questions will be asked in the competency test. Each question will carry one mark. Apart from this, there will be five practical questions. Each question will carry 12 marks. Thus, the entire exam will be of 100 marks.
To train the newly appointed teachers, now the lecturers of the training institute will have to take the competency test. The syllabus for this has just been released. The exam date will also be released soon.
If SCERT is to be believed, then this will be the first time that an exam will be conducted for lecturers. SCERT has also released the syllabus for the exam. Question papers will be prepared according to this syllabus. It will be mandatory for all principals and lecturers to appear in the exam and score the minimum prescribed marks. Whatever result of the exam will come, it will be included in the annual work evaluation report of the lecturer.
