Selection Council sent letter to all DMs, examination will run for seven days
Written examination will also be held on 11, 18, 21, 25, 28 and 31 August.
Latest Updated 13/05/2024: There is relief news for the youth waiting for constable reinstatement. Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) has fixed the date of the exam which was canceled due to paper leak. The examination will start from 7th August. After this it will be on 11, 18, 21, 25, 28 and 31 August. Every day the examination will be held in one shift only.
- Restoration to be done on 21391 posts of constable in Bihar Police
Restoration is to be done for 21 thousand 391 posts of constable. The Council has written a letter to all the District Magistrates to make the centers available on the above mentioned dates in August. According to this letter, the examination will be taken on seven different days in August. Also, DM of the respective districts has been nominated as the examination coordinator for the written examination.

About 18 lakh candidates have applied for more than 21 thousand posts of constable. In order to prevent malpractices and avoid crowding of candidates on a single day, it has been decided to conduct the written examination on seven different days.
Center not on controversial schools and colleges
The Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) has clarified that such schools and colleges which have been controversial will not be selected as examination centres. Instructions have been given to be completely sure about the schools and colleges which are being selected. So that the examination can be conducted without any malpractice under any circumstances. Along with this, it has also been requested to ensure that there is adequate infrastructure to conduct the examination. The councilor has said that utmost care should be taken in the selection of the center superintendent and invigilators. It should be ensured that no relative of the center superintendent and invigilator is appearing there.

The number of potential candidates was also given to the districts
To facilitate the arrangement of examination centres, the Council has also given the number of potential candidates to the districts. This has been done so that the centers can be selected keeping the numbers in mind. It has also been requested that the examination center should be made in the urban areas of the district headquarters.
The exam was canceled in October due to paper leak
The written examination for reinstatement to the post of constable was held on October 1, 2023. But, the exam had to be canceled after the question paper was leaked. At present the Economic Offenses Unit is investigating this matter. After the paper leak, the then chairman of the council, former DGP SK Singhal, was removed from the post.
