Latest Updated 13/05/2024: Studying through distance education is possible only in universities that have obtained A grade from NAAC. Apart from this, only universities falling within 100 in NIRF ranking can offer studies in distance mode.
There is no other option other than this. This is the guideline of the University Grants Commission. UGC informed PU by sending a letter in this regard. It is known that no meaningful initiative was taken to provide education through distance education in PU. Because of this, enrollment in distance education has been closed for the last four years. Zero session has been imposed in DDE. Correspondence was sent to UGC on behalf of the university. The University Grants Commission made it clear by sending a letter.
After this letter from UGC, now all possibilities are over. This situation is not limited to Patna University only. Rather, it is applicable to all the universities running within the state. Any university which has A grade from NAAC and is not below 100 in NIRF ranking. Studies cannot be conducted separately through distance medium.
For the last four-five years, studies through distance education have been completely stopped in the universities of the state. This is causing direct loss to the students. Those students who were not able to enroll regularly had a desire to study. Apart from this, working women or housewives also took nomination in distance mode. Its number was considerable.
