Latest Updated 30/05/2024: It has been made mandatory for doctor teachers, senior residents and tutors to register 75 percent biometric attendance in all medical colleges and hospitals (medical colleges) of the state. Now they will be paid salary only on the basis of biometric attendance.

In this regard, Special Secretary of Health Department Shashank Shekhar Sinha has sent a letter to the Principal and Superintendent of all medical colleges and hospitals. It has been said in the letter that inspection and evaluation is being done at various levels by the National Medical Council (NMC) to increase the quality of medical colleges and hospitals. In this, it has been made mandatory by the NMC to register 100 percent biometric attendance of doctors in medical colleges and hospitals under the AEBAS system. As per the rules of MSR-2023, 75 percent attendance of all faculty, senior resident and tutor doctors is mandatory.
The situation was found unsatisfactory in the review The Health Department has found in the review that the biometric attendance recorded in the AEBAS system by the doctors of medical colleges and hospitals is very unsatisfactory on the NMC website. Some medical colleges and hospitals have already been issued show cause notices by NMC in this matter, so ensure 100% attendance through the biometric equipment installed in medical colleges and hospitals. Also, instructions have been given to pay the salary of medical teachers, senior residents and tutors of medical colleges and hospitals at the end of the month on the basis of the attendance details recorded on the NMC biometric equipment (AEBAS) of their institute
The Principal and Superintendent will be fully accountable
It has been warned that in future, in case of biometric attendance not being recorded during inspection by NMC and if the attendance is found to be unsatisfactory, the entire accountability will be of the Principal and Superintendent. It is worth noting that biometric equipment has been installed in medical colleges by NMC under the AEBAS system.
