Latest Updated 15/03/2024: The annual examination of students from class 1 to class 7 studying in government schools will start from 2 April. JCERT (Jharkhand Council of Educational Research and Training) Ranchi has released the schedule.


The examination will be conducted till April 4 in two shifts from 930 am to 1130 am and from 1230 am to 230 pm. The examination will be conducted in all government and non-government aided (including minority) schools. Due to Lok Sabha elections, the copies will be scrutinized from 5 April to 20 April. BEEOs will complete the verification of copies while coordinating with the election training and other work being conducted in their district. The result will be released on 30th April.

The oral examination for the children of class one will be oral. The examination for the children of class one will be oral. The examination for class two will be oral and written. There will be objective, short answer and long answer type questions in the examination from class 3 to 7. This exam will be of two hours. Children will be given question paper along with answer book. The answer will have to be written at the designated place. For children from class one to fifth, 60 marks are prescribed for each subject. Whereas for classes six and seven, there will be written work of 50-50 marks and project work of 10-10 marks for mathematics, science and social science. For other subjects, examination of 60 marks will be taken.


Important information


  • Midday meal scheme will be operated in the gap between two shifts.
  • The examination will be monitored by Diet members.
  • DSE will be the nodal officer for the annual examination.
  • Parents' seminar will be organized for distribution of result cards.


Internal assessment of 40 marks JCERT said that 40 marks will be given on the basis of internal assessment.


Under Project Rail, the weekly test exam taken from December 23 to March 24 will be considered the basis of internal assessment. JCERT will make question papers and answer sheets available at the district level by 20th March.


Scrutiny of copies will be completed in packages from April 5 to April 20. The results will be released in schools on 30th April. It will be the responsibility of the Headmaster to keep the copies safe till the end of the next year's session i.e. March 25.
