Latest Updated 17/02/2024: There will be recruitment on all the vacant posts in the Planning and Development Department. The state government has started preparations for this. Recently, Planning & Development Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav has given instructions to identify the vacant posts of the department. Following his instructions, the department has beganed its exercise. Recently 90 planning assistants were appointed in the department. Even after this, a large no. of posts are lying vacant.
Vacant posts will be identified in the department as well as in the directorates & meteorological centers attached to the department as well as in the regional offices. After this the process of appointment will start on them. For gazetted posts, requisition will be sent to the Bihar Public Service Commission while for non-gazetted posts, requisition will be sent to Staff Selection Commission. These posts will be included in the upcoming appointment process. The department is facing many problems due to shortage of officers and personnel. Therefore, the department has started the process of new appointment. In fact, monitoring of departmental schemes has now beganed happening up to the block level. Not only this, the development schemes of backward districts by Center have been extended to the blocks. Now,the special development schemes will be implemented in backward blocks. The Central Govt has included 61 blocks of Bihar in this.

The responsibility of the department has also increased due to the inclusion of many other schemes under the CM Area Development Scheme. Not only this, now MLAs & MLCs have been given the right to recommend an amount of 4 crore rupees instead of 3 crore rupees. After this, many additional schemes will also be operated in the blocks.
