Breaking News: Leader of Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha says Health department of Bihar failed to prevent dengue
Latest Updated 15/09/2023: Leader of Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha has expressed concern over the number of dengue patients in the state officially crossing one thousand. He alleged that the Urban Development Department and the Health Department have failed in the prevention and treatment of dengue.
In a statement issued on Thursday, he alleged that despite being warned earlier, due to the inaction and corruption of these departments, they are suffering from dangerous diseases like dengue. This year, government figures show a total of 1332 dengue patients but the actual number is higher. There is a shortage of medicines, beds and doctors in the government hospital. Mr. Sinha said that in the name of fighting dengue, the health department is issuing alerts to hospitals and municipal corporations. There is a shortage of drinking water in Guru Gobind Singh Sadar Hospital, Patna City.
