Breaking News: Aadhaar number is not required to make voter card
Latest Updated 22/09/2023: The Election Commission of India told the Supreme Court that Aadhaar number details are not necessary for authentication of the new voter list. The Commission assured the apex court that it will issue appropriate explanatory changes in Form-6 and 6-B (for online registration in the e-voter list).
Senior advocate Sukumar Pattajoshi has given this information on behalf of the Election Commission before the bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra.
