Travel leave of basic-secondary teachers restored by the government of Bihar latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 15/08/2023: The government restored the facility of travel leave for basic and secondary teachers of the state. From now on, once a year, depending on the distance, teachers will get additional leave of two to six days along with the basic leave.
DG-Education Banshidhar Tiwari issued orders to restore travel leave on Monday. It was agreed upon in the talks held by Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat with the State Teachers Association on August 4. In its Monday issue, your own newspaper Hindustan had indicated that travel leave would be restored. From October 2018, the facility of travel leave in school education was banned. Whereas in the Higher Education Department it is applicable from the beginning.
Travel leave arrangement
● Two additional days for inter-district distance of 100 kms.
● 100 to 500 km distance between district-division four days
● Total six days on over 500 inter-regional journeys
● 6 days for inter-state travel of more than 1000 kms
For the last four years, the teachers were demanding restoration of this facility. State President of State Teachers Association Ram Singh Chauhan and General Secretary Ramesh Chandra Painuli expressed gratitude to Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat and DG Education for this decision.
