Latest Updated 07/07/2023: Five youths have been arrested in raids in Mumbai, Kolkata and Govindpur of Dhanbad, Barhi of Hazaribagh in the case of looting five crore rupees from a Gujarat businessman on the night of June 21, near Jamua-Pachamba Marg Bati of Giridih's Jamua police station area. Among the arrested youths, four are from Govindpur and one from Barhi in Hazaribagh. 3.25 crore looted from them has also been recovered.
It is being told that the police have arrested Karim Ansari of Govindpur Amarpur, Vinod Vishwakarma of Paltantand and Shahzad Ansari of Fakirdih. There is talk of his arrest from Mumbai. Giridih police has brought all 3 to Ranchi by aeroplane. Then raids were also conducted at Karim Ansari's house in Govindpur, brother-in-law's house in Kolkata and in-laws' house in Wasseypur. Police has also arrested Azad alias Ranjit from Barhi in the robbery case. Earlier on Tuesday, SDPO Mukesh Mahato picked up Rajneesh Singh from Ramnagar in Govindpur. It was Rajneesh who had told the names of the gang members. Giridih SP will reveal this scandal on Friday.
Recovery agents looted money by installing GPS
The recovery agents had prepared the plan for the robbery four months in advance. Barhi's Gulab associated with the vehicle finance company is the mastermind of the robbery. Four months ago, the car of a Gujarat businessman was stopped by recovery agents in Barhi. Seeing the huge amount in the car, at the same time secretly installed another GPS in the car. It is discussed that a deal worth lakhs of rupees was done in lieu of releasing the money. Four months later, with the help of another GPS, the car of a businessman going from Patna to Kolkata with money was tracked and the robbery was carried out.
