Chief Minister Hemant Soren made this announcement on Wednesday in a program organized by the Health Department at Namkum IPH. On this occasion, the CM also inaugurated 206 new ambulances. Also handed over appointment letters symbolically to five out of 38 newly appointed dentists.
The CM said that until the production of doctors does not increase, the health facilities will not improve. He said that the Central Government has decided to open medical colleges in every district. But the state government will not be able to run medical colleges in remote districts of the state, the center must run them. This is the reason why Deoghar has not been able to move beyond AIIMS OPD. He said that the decision of where the colleges should be opened and how they should be run should be left to the state. During this, the CM said that the state government is constantly making efforts to improve the health system of the state.
Chief Minister handed over 206 new ambulances to the public
In this program, the Chief Minister also handed over 206 new ambulances to the public. It will be operated through EMRI. Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Arun Kumar Singh said that out of 206 ambulances, there are 51 advance life support, 131 basic life support and 24 neonatal ambulances.
Now maternity leave for women contract workers
Women employees appointed on contract basis in various departments of the government will now also get the benefit of maternity leave. Chief Minister Hemant Soren approved the proposal related to this. The Finance Department has already approved this proposal.
180 days maternity leave will be given The proposal approved by the Chief Minister will be applicable to such women workers who have worked on contract for 80 days in the last 12 months, they will be entitled to 180 days maternity leave. This leave will not be given on the delivery of two living children. The contract amount for maternity leave will be equal to the last contract amount received before proceeding on leave. In this, thousands of women employees of various departments will get its benefit. The Law Department has also recommended this. Now it will be placed for the approval of the cabinet. It may be noted that earlier there was no provision to give the benefit of maternity leave to women workers appointed on contract. When the matter came to the notice of the Chief Minister, he has given approval to give maternity leave to the women workers appointed on contract.
