Meritorious students of degree college will also get scholarship in UK Uttarakhand latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 01/06/2023: In the cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, the government has also approved giving monthly scholarship to the meritorious students of UG, PG in university campus and government degree colleges.
Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet, Higher Education Secretary Shailesh Bagauli said that the said scholarship is being implemented from the academic session 2023-24 in the name of Chief Minister Higher Education Meritorious Scholarship Promotion Scheme. For this, institutional students studying in all regular courses of Government University Campus Colleges and Government Degree Colleges will be eligible. For the scholarship received in the first year of graduation, a minimum of 80 marks or its equivalent grade in Inter will be made the basis, whereas in the classes ahead of this, a minimum of 60 marks and 75 attendance will be mandatory.

The benefit of the said scheme will be given to the students coming first, second and third in college and faculty wise. In which a monthly scholarship of three thousand will be given for coming first, two thousand for second place and one and a half thousand for getting third place. Similarly, in PG this scholarship will be five, three and two thousand respectively. In case of two year course, scholarship will be given on the basis of marks obtained in the first year.
Mr. Bagauli said that on the basis of marks obtained after graduation final year examination, a lump sum amount of Rs. Similarly, students coming first, second and third in related subjects at PG level will be given an amount of Rs 60, 35 and 25 thousand respectively. The cabinet has approved a budget of Rs 17 crore for this scheme.
