Breaking News: Chief Secretary DS Mishra says 2500 AC buses will run in big cities of UP
Latest Updated 15/06/2023: The state government will run 2500 air-conditioned (AC) buses in major cities. Presently 745 such electric buses are running. Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra said these things in the workshop on launch of Comprehensive Electric Mobility Plan for Lucknow organized at Hotel Taj on Wednesday.
- A little over 700 electric buses are currently running
- 4.5 lakh e vehicles running in UP
The Chief Secretary launched the Electric Vehicle Awareness Portal in a program jointly organized by the State Government, Asian Bank and NITI Aayog. He said that the Urban Development Department has given approval to take 1500 new electric AC buses. These buses will start plying in Lucknow, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Prayagraj and Varanasi within a year.
