Five people arrested for embezzlement of 39.82 lakhs of land acquisition latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 16/05/2023: Amin Fateh Alam and his associate Sunil Prasad of the Land Acquisition Department were the masterminds of embezzling Rs 39 lakh 82 thousand from the compensation of Etwa Oraon and her sister-in-law Somari Devi, a resident of Chadu in Sikidiri police station area. This was revealed after the arrest of Fateh and Sunil by Sikidiri police on Saturday night. Police has so far arrested five people in this case.
The arrested accused include Mahavir Oraon of Hurlung in Khunti, Sadho Pahan, Amin Fateh Alam of Kantatoli, Sunil Prasad of Kanke and Krishna Singh of Bundu. The mastermind of embezzlement, Amin (working on contract) of Land Acquisition Department, Fateh Alam, resident of Kantatoli and Sunil Prasad of Kanke, have been arrested by the police on Saturday. While three other accused have been arrested earlier. All were sent to jail on Sunday. Police investigation revealed that Sunil had left Rs 10,000 in Mahavir's account and got the remaining amount transferred to his own account. Later he had withdrawn all the money.
However, the police have not yet recovered the money. Case IO Arun Kumar Singh told that the bank account is being investigated. He told that when Amin Fateh Alam saw a descendant in the genealogy of Etwa and Somri, he conspired to prepare a fake descendant. It may be noted that Etwa and Somari Devi were to get a total of Rs 79,65,563 in lieu of land acquisition by the Bharat Mala Project. Sikidiri SHO Satyaprakash Ravi, SI Arun Kumar Singh and Vikas Kumar were involved in the arrest of the accused.
Mahavir, the main accused of embezzlement of Rs 39 lakhs in land acquisition, gets bread for two days
Mahavir Oraon, the victim of the conspiracy, is very poor, it is difficult for him to make ends meet. He wears broken slippers. In this Mahavir was given only 1000 rupees whereas Sadho Pahan got 40 thousand rupees.
Aadhaar card taken from Mahavir by luring money
Arrested accused Sadho Pahan asked for the Aadhaar card of Mahavir Oraon of his village Hurlung by luring him to get money from the government scheme. After this, Krishna and Sadho brought Mahaveer to Ormanjhi and got his account opened in SBI branch. With the connivance of Amin, the amount of Rs 39,82,781 received by Etwa and Somari (original descendants) was transferred to Mahavir's account. After this, Sunil Prasad withdrew the money by transferring it to his ICICI Bank account.
