Trending News: 2 thousand rupee notes will be changed in banks from today
Latest Updated 23/05/2023: The process of converting the withdrawn Rs 2,000 notes into banks is starting from Tuesday. As per RBI guidelines, only up to Rs 20,000 can be exchanged at a time. No form or identity card will be required for this. The public has been given time till September 30 to exchange the notes.
RBI has asked banks to provide adequate infrastructure for exchange of notes. Various banks have started sending mobile messages to their customers regarding the note exchange process. Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das said on Monday that the impact of the move on the economy would be minimal as it accounts for only 10.8 per cent of the currency in circulation.
