Latest Updated 26/04/2023: Now, the government will have direct interference in more than six thousand private and other schools of the state. One official member each will be appointed as the representative of the Director of Education in the Management Committee of all schools affiliated to ICSE, CBSE and Board of India Education. This government member will be the senior most principal of a government school located within a radius of five kilometers from the school.


According to sources, this decision has been taken in view of the complaints of arbitrary fee hike, game of expensive books and neglect of NCERT books. Additional Director-Secondary Mahavir Singh Bisht has ordered all the CEOs in this regard. All the CEOs have been asked to immediately initiate the process of appointment to the Managing Committee. Bisht said that this arrangement is being made for the first time in the state. Earlier government representatives were definitely sought for the election of school management committees. But henceforth every school shall have a Principal in the Management Committee as a representative of the Director of Education.

According to sources, his role will be important in policy decisions in the school. He will also keep an eye on the policies of schools fees, books, stationery-uniform etc. and his opinion will be important in the decisions. He will also be able to recommend action to the department in case of violation of rules. With government members in the management committee, it will be easier to keep an eye on the schools throughout the academic session and follow the rules. 


  •  From now on, there will be one government member each in the management committees of CBSE, ICSE and Indian Board of Education schools.
  • Senior Principals of government schools located within 5 km radius to be nominated as representative of the Director
  • Education Department strict on buying arbitrary fees, expensive books, stationery and ignoring NCERT books


Having a government representative in the management committee of private schools will also establish coordination between the school and the department. All CEOs have been ordered to nominate members and report to the directorate.
