Schools run on government land did not get the due money

Latest Updated 19/03/2023: Jharkhand Education Project Council Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Office Dhanbad has refused to pay BPL admission fees of 15 public schools. These include many well-known schools. The concerned schools were to be paid about one crore rupees for the financial year 2022-23. The district office has paid BPL fees to other schools except these schools run on government land (mostly on BCCL land).

The district office argues that these schools are operated on government land. For this reason, guidance is being sought from the state headquarters before paying the fees. The final decision in the matter will be taken only after seeking guidance from the headquarters. Let us inform that every year BPL enrollment is taken on 25 percent of the total seats in the entry class in public schools.

Monthly fees for the education of enrolled BPL children up to class VIII is paid by the state government to the concerned public schools. Rs 425 is given to the school in a month for a child. Experts say that about two crore rupees are paid annually by the District Education Department to the public schools under BPL admission fees. There is a possibility that soon the representatives of the concerned public schools will meet the DSE and request them to pay the fees keeping their point.
