The application process for JEE Main is going on. Its last date is till 11 pm on Thursday night. After the release of notification by NTA, a large number of students have started applying. Last year 8 lakh 72 thousand students appeared in this examination. So far this year 8 lakh 55 thousand students have applied.


National Testing Agency (NTA) has made a major change for admission in NIT-TripleIT. Its notification was issued late on Tuesday night. Under the new change, now only students in the top-20 percentile with 75 marks in 12th will get admission in NIT-Triple IT.

For this demand was being made by the students from all over the country, however till now many boards of the country have not released the top-20 percentile for the last two years. In such a situation, all the boards of the country will have to issue the merit list of top-20 percentile, because on this basis enrollment in NIT, TripleIT will be possible. After the release of this information, now the students who are in the top-20 percentile in class 12th will also be able to take admission in NIT-Triple IT, CFTI. Experts told that Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Odisha, UP, National Open Board, Gujarat, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, Assam and Chhattisgarh are included in the country. The top-20 percentile of these boards ranged from Sixty Five (65) to Seventy Four (74). In such a condition, the students of these boards will get benefit.


IIT has already issued notification


Top-20 percentile with 75 marks in 2nd board was already the eligibility criteria for admission to IIT. For this, IIT Guwahati had also issued a notification, but only 75 boards were eligible for admission to NIT-TripleIT from JEE Main. In this, the option of top-20 percentile has now been added. The total number of unique candidates for JEE Main exam this year is expected to be more than 10 lakh. JEE Main Phase I exam will be held from January 24 to 31.


75 is not mandatory for admission in many institutions


To appear in JEE Main, it is necessary to pass 12th class. Now such students who do not have 75 in 12th board and 65 in category, such students can apply for admission in some colleges on the basis of JEE Main rank and NTA score. These include TripleIT Hyderabad, Delhi, Bangalore, DTU NSIT Delhi, LNMIIT Jaipur, Nirma Ahmedabad, Thapar Patiala, Jamia Delhi, AIT Pune, IISc Bangalore. Apart from this, there are 9 states whose engineering institutes get admission only on the basis of JEE Main rank, in which 75 are not board eligible. These include Bihar, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, MP, UP, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha.
