2000 teachers will be appointed on contract in excellent schools of Jharkhand latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 12/01/2023: About two thousand teachers will be appointed on contract basis in schools of excellence of Jharkhand. Teachers will be appointed on the vacant posts of 80 schools of excellence at the district level and 325 model schools at the block level. On an average, 4-5 short term graduate trained and post graduate trained teachers will be reinstated in every school. The Department of School Education and Literacy has given instructions to all the districts for the appointment of teachers on contract.
Short term graduate trained and post graduate trained teachers will be appointed at the district level. They will be selected on the basis of interview and skill of teaching children. The selection committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner will make the final selection. This committee will appoint vacant posts in comparison to the sanctioned posts in excellent and ideal schools and applications will be taken by taking out advertisements for this. The working period of contract teachers will be 11 months. There will be an agreement with the principal of the school and the candidate. There will be reinstatement on contract till the end of academic session or appointment of regular teachers.
The work of the teacher will be evaluated before the extension of the contract. Service extension will be given if the work is found satisfactory. If the service is not satisfactory, they will be removed from service. The graduate trained and post graduate trained teachers who are reinstated on contract will not have any claim or right for regular selection nor will they be part of the government teacher service cadre. These teachers will be under the principal and will work according to the work assigned by them.

Candidates of 55 years will also be able to apply. Candidates up to 55 years of age will be able to apply for the appointment of teachers. The minimum age limit has been kept at 21 years, which has been fixed on the basis of 31 December 2022.
The reservation roster prescribed by the Government of Jharkhand for district level appointment will be followed.
Honorarium up to 27,500
Honorarium will be paid to teachers appointed on contract in excellence schools. Graduate trained teachers will get Rs 26,250 per month and post graduate trained teachers will get Rs 27,500 per month as honorarium. These teachers will be given this honorarium on the basis of pay scale of 5200-20200 and grade-pay of 2400-2800.

Teacher qualification
In the subject of PGT appointment, it is necessary to have a postgraduate degree with 45 percent marks for SC-ST and 50 percent marks for others. At the same time, in the matter of TGT appointment, a bachelor's degree has been prescribed with 40 percent marks for SC-ST and 45 percent for others. Also, a B.Ed degree from a recognized training institute or a degree declared equivalent to B.Ed by the National Council for Teacher Education is essential.
