8 years of experience is compulsory for headmasters of high schools in Bihar latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 23/01/2023: Now, teachers will get eligibility for headmaster 2 to 4 years in advance. For this, the state govt has reduced the experience period of teachers. Now, secondary teachers will be capable to appear in the examination for the headmaster only on the basis of 8 years of experience while higher secondary teachers will have 4 years of experience.
Earlier, secondary teachers had to put in 10 years of service while higher secondary teachers had to put in 8 years of service to be recruited to the post of headmaster. Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) had recently held the examination by taking applications on this basis only. Dilution of this experience requirement was recommended by several teacher organizations. The number of both types of schools in the bihar is about 10 thousand. Dr. Chandrashekhar which is Education Minister said that it has been implemented with immediate effect. Necessary amendments have been made in the Higher Secondary School Principal Appointment, Transfer & Disciplinary Action and Service Conditions Rules, 2021 related to this. On this basis, the syllabus for the examination will be decided by the Bihar Public Service Commission.
New System Implemented
The Education Minister said that with this change, teachers with only 4 & 8 years of experience in secondary and higher secondary respectively will be promoted to the post of headmaster or appointed by direct recruitment. With this, young headmasters will be found at a young age & there will be a qualitative change in the management & education system of the school.
