Latest Updated On 29/04/2022: The exercise to fill large number of vacancies in NCERT and CBSE will start soon.
In order to implement the National Education Policy, the need to fill these vacancies has been told by the Parliamentary Panel. According to the report, about 2,652 posts are vacant in NCERT and CBSE together. These posts are as on 31 December 2021.
The parliamentary committee has asked to fill up these vacancies in a time bound manner so that there is no issue in the implementation of the National Education Policy. The committee has expressed concern over the large no. of vacancies in NCERT. The committee has said that these institutions have an important role in the implementation of the National Education Policy. Clear backlog in a timely manner.

The sanctioned posts in NCERT are 2833
The total sanctioned posts in NCERT are 2,833. Presently the current workforce is around 1,128. Around 1,705 posts are lying vacant.
1833 sanctioned posts in CBSE
The sanctioned posts in CBSE are 1,833. Presently the current workforce is 886. While the vacant post is 947. There are 142 vacancies in Group A, 132 in Group B and 673 in Group C.
