Latest Updated 05/08/2024: The unfunded education policy will end in Jharkhand. Also, about 8000 teachers and workers of 525 unfunded institutions will be given the status of government employees. These workers will get pay scale instead of grant.
- Unfunded education workers will get pay scale
The state government has started its preparation. After the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the School Education and Literacy Department has written a letter to the Personnel Department to end the unfunded education policy and make rules and give pay scale to all unfunded employees while serving in the government cadre.

Umashankar Singh, Secretary-in-charge of the Education Department, has written a letter to the Secretary of the Personnel Department in this regard that a proposal was already given to make rules to end the unfunded education policy. It also talks about giving them pay scale while serving in government service. The Education Department has not received any information about the action taken by the Personnel Department in this matter. In this regard, during the session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has mentioned the action taken by the State Administrative Reforms Commission on the short notice question.
Therefore, the Education Department requests that appropriate action be taken in the matter.
8000 teachers and workers will be benefited
About 8000 teachers and workers of 525 institutions will be benefited by giving the status and pay scale of state employees to the employees of unfunded institutions of the state. By getting the status and pay scale of state employees, they will be able to get money in their bank account every month. The state government will decide how much pay scale these employees will get and its provision will be made in the rules to be made. The unfunded education workers of the state have been continuously agitating regarding this too.
Grant is given on the basis of the admission
At present, grant is given to unfunded institutions. They get grant on the basis of enrolled students. Inter colleges get a grant of at least Rs 16.80 lakh and maximum Rs 60 lakh annually. On the other hand, high schools, madrasas and Sanskrit schools get at least Rs 7.20 lakh and maximum Rs 14.40 lakh.
