Latest Updated 13/07/2024: The way has been cleared for the appointment of paramedical personnel in Jharkhand. The High Court on Friday dismissed the petition challenging the rules made for the appointment of paramedical personnel.
After the requisition of the Health Department, the Jharkhand State Staff Selection Commission had released a advertisement in the year 2023 for the appointment of 2383 posts. The applicant had requested the court to cancel the appointment process, terming some of the conditions of the rules as unconstitutional. After hearing all the parties, the court of Chief Justice Dr BR Sarangi and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad dismissed the petition. Vinod Oraon and others had filed a petition in this regard. In the petition, the provision of the appointment rules was challenged, which states that the personnel working on contract for five years, whose service has been continuous and who are working in government hospitals, will also be given a maximum of 50 marks.

Whereas, the government said that this provision of the rules is not unconstitutional. Those working on contract have been given priority in appointments earlier as well.
