Results released: 1275 candidates from across the state successful in the sub-inspector recruitment exam
Latest Updated 10/07/2024: Bihar Police has got 1275 new sub-inspectors. Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission has released the result of 1275 candidates of sub-inspector recruitment on Tuesday. These include 450 women and three transgenders. 5 posts were reserved for such transgenders, but only 3 eligible candidates were found. Due to this, their remaining two seats have been included in the general category.

35.3 percent women were successful in the exam this time
This is the first time in the state when a transgender has been selected for the post of sub-inspector in the police department. This time the selection percentage of women has been 35.3. In the released result, there are 22 candidates who have been selected on the quota of grandson or granddaughter of a freedom fighter. The successful candidates will be given posting after about a year of training. The commission has completed the entire process of recruitment within 10 months of issuing the advertisement. In this, the entire selection process was closed for two and a half months due to election work. If we exclude this period, then the entire selection process has been completed in about two and a half months.
While in other selection processes of the state, things like paper leak or ruckus are coming to the fore, on the other hand, no matter of any kind of malpractice has come to the fore in the sub-inspector selection process. This is being considered a big achievement. Advertisement was released on 30 September 2023 for 1275 vacant posts of sub-inspector. These included 275 posts of Scheduled Caste, 16 of Scheduled Tribe, 238 of Extremely Backward Class, 107 of Backward Class, 82 of Backward Class Women, 441 unreserved, 111 of Economically Weaker Section and 5 posts of Transgender. In all these categories, 35 reservations were for women.

3727 passed after physical efficiency test
7623 selected for physical efficiency test, out of which 6788 candidates appeared. Out of these, 5 candidates proved ineligible in medical examination. 2300 failed in the race. 736 failed in other competitions and physical test and 20 proved ineligible in document verification. In this way, finally 3727 candidates were selected. After this, 1275 passed on the basis of merit list.
660537 candidates appeared in PT
PT was held on 17 December 2023, in which 6 lakh 60 thousand 537 candidates appeared. Its result came on 25 January 2024. The main written examination was held on 25 February. Its result was released on 15 March. The selected candidates had a physical efficiency test from 10 to 19 June. 3727 were selected on the basis of written and physical efficiency. Out of these, 1275 were finally declared successful.
