Latest Updated 07/07/2024: Divisional Commissioner Kumar Ravi has stopped the salary of an executive engineer for negligence in public grievance redressal. The executive engineer is posted in Minor Irrigation Division, Arrah.
On Saturday, the Divisional Commissioner heard a total of 11 cases related to public grievances. During the same time, he took action against a public authority of Arrah. The Commissioner heard the complaints in the first appeal under the Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act, 2015 in his office-cell.

In fact, a complaint was filed before the First Appellate Authority-cum-Commissioner, Patna Division, Patna by RTI Manch Bihar of Bankat village of Agiaon block of Bhojpur district regarding the renovation of the Ahar of Narauni village under Khopira Gram Panchayat by making it encroachment free. The Commissioner found in the hearing that no honest efforts were made by the Public Authority Executive Engineer, Minor Irrigation Division, Arrah in this case. He was also absent from Saturday's hearing without authorization. The junior engineer was sent to attend the hearing without authorization. The report was also unsatisfactory and vague.
The Commissioner has expressed deep regret over this and has sought an explanation from the Public Authority Executive Engineer, Minor Irrigation Division, Ara by blocking his salary. The Commissioner said that negligence towards work, disinterest in public grievance redressal and insensitivity in matters of public interest will not be tolerated.
The Commissioner said that successful implementation of Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act, 2015 is the top priority of the government. Timely and quality redressal of public grievances is essential. All officers should be alert. Public authorities will have to display sensitivity and promptness.
DM should take prompt action on public grievance applications
Patna DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh reviewed the cases related to Public Grievance Redressal and RTPS on Saturday. All public authorities and officers were instructed to expedite the related applications. In the review, it was found that 530 cases have been disposed of in the last one week in Public Grievance Redressal in Patna district. The number of cases pending for more than 30 working days is 521, the number of cases pending for more than last 45 working days is 358 and the number of cases pending for more than last 60 working days is zero. The total number of pending complaints is 2,266. During this, the progress in RTPS was reviewed by the DM. The DM said that ensure the execution of applications within the time limit as per the RTPS Act.
