Latest Updated 05/07/2024: There is good news for students who wish to do PhD from IIT Dhanbad. Students will not have to wait to do PhD. Now applications for PhD admission in IIT Dhanbad will be available throughout the year (through out the year).
The PhD admission portal will remain open throughout the year. The notification has been released in this regard. Any student can apply for the admission in IIT Dhanbad as soon as they complete the eligibility for the PhD course. After the application, other processes including interview will be completed by the institute. If selected, enrollment will be done immediately.
Currently, PhD enrollment is done twice a year in IIT Dhanbad in Monsoon Semester and Winter Semester. Keeping in view the convenience of the students, preparations have been started to continue the process of PhD enrollment throughout the year. In IIT Dhanbad, students have now been given the opportunity to do PhD course along with PG.

Work started on increasing seats phasewise
On contacting, Dean Academic of IIT ISM Prof. MK Singh said that you can apply for PhD any day of the year. Currently there are more than 500 seats in PhD. Work is going on to increase the seats phasewise. Our target is to have two thousand scholars in the campus. We will complete the process for enrollment on the basis of applications received every month.
