Latest Updated 03/07/2024: From the new session, MBBS will also be taught in Hindi in all government medical colleges of Bihar. Students will have the option to study medicine in Hindi or English. The Health Department has issued an order in this regard.

Health Minister Mangal Pandey said on Tuesday that under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Health Department has made it effective to teach medical courses in medical college hospitals through Hindi medium. Students will have the option to study in Hindi or English if they wish. The Health Department had constituted a high-level committee in this regard. In accordance with the syllabus prescribed by the National Medical Commission, New Delhi, MBBS course in Hindi will be implemented in the state from this session for the students who pass NEET (UG) 2024.
The Health Minister said that Bihar has become the second state in the country, where MBBS will also be taught in Hindi. The government has taken this decision on the recommendation of a nine-member high-level committee. Regarding this action plan, a three-member team of officials had studied Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. Where medical studies are being done in Hindi. The committee reported that this model would be very beneficial in making locally relevant and globally competent doctors. Simplifying medical education in Hindi along with English would help meritorious Hindi students.
