Latest Updated 02/07/2024: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has taken action against five officers and employees in the case of changing the copy of PCS-J 2022 main examination. Commission Secretary Ashok Kumar said that Section Officer Shivshankar, Review Officer Neelam Shukla and Assistant Review Officer Bhagwati Devi have been suspended after negligence was found in the investigation of this matter. Along with this, a decision has been taken to take departmental action against Supervisory Officer Deputy Secretary Satish Chandra Mishra. Permission has been sought from the government for action against retired Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Chandrakala.

It is worth noting that Shravan Pandey, a candidate for the main examination in PCS J 2022, had seen his answer sheet through RTI. After this, he filed a petition in the High Court, in which he alleged that the handwriting in his English answer sheet has been changed and some pages of another answer sheet have been torn. Due to which he could not succeed in mains examination. After this, the High Court had directed the Public Service Commission to present the answer sheets of his six question papers before the court. On which the Commission appeared in the High Court and gave an affidavit that after the matter came to light, 18,042 answer sheets of all 3,019 candidates appearing in the main examination are being examined.

Meanwhile, the Commission started showing their answer sheets to all the candidates appearing in this examination from June 20. The candidates appearing in the main examination of PGS-J 2022 will be shown the copy till 30 July according to the roll number. So far 232 candidates have observed the answer sheet. In the investigation conducted by the Commission, action has been taken against the five people whose negligence has come to light prima facie in this matter.
