Live Updates: central government is not in favor of canceling neet ug 2024
Latest Updated 06/07/2024: The Central Government and the National Examination Agency (NTA) on Friday told the Supreme Court that cancelling the NEET-UG exam would not be a rational step. This would pose a serious threat to the future of lakhs of honest students who appeared in the exam.
The Union Education Ministry and the NTA have filed separate affidavits opposing various petitions seeking cancellation of the controversial NEET-UG, re-examination and court-monitored investigation. In the initial affidavit filed by a director of the Ministry of Education, the Center said that it would not be rational to cancel the examination and results in the absence of any evidence of violation of confidentiality in the examination.
The affidavit said that any examination has competitive rights so that the interests of students who do not adopt any unfair means in the examination are not harmed. It has been said that cancelling the examination completely would cause serious harm to lakhs of honest candidates.
