Latest Updated 03/07/2024: Good news for the medical college hospitals of the state. The government has canceled the deputation of all 139 doctors posted in medical colleges under PG bond. These doctors will come back to medical colleges and serve. This will reduce the shortage of doctors in medical colleges to a great extent. Dhanbad Medical College will get 41 doctors.

Let us tell you that the government had posted 139 doctors (one from MGM) who did PG from RIMS in the session 2020-23 in the medical colleges of the state for three years under PG bond. Its notification was issued on 30 October 2023. In the same notification, all these doctors were deputed to Sadar hospitals of different districts. As a result, even after the doctors were posted, the medical colleges did not get its benefit.

All the doctors went to Sadar hospitals. On Tuesday, the government has canceled the deputation of these doctors by issuing a new notification. All the deputed doctors have been directed to contribute to the posted medical college within seven days. With this new notification, all the 41 doctors posted in Dhanbad Medical College and other districts' Sadar Hospital will be reinstated. 46 doctors were posted here. Out of these, five are serving here as tutors. 12 were deputed in Dhanbad Sadar Hospital and the remaining 29 were deputed in Sadar Hospital of other districts.



Radiology department which was closed for three years will open


The biggest benefit of cancellation of deputation of doctors of PG bond will be received by the Radiology department of Dhanbad Medical College. Due to lack of doctors, the department is closed for almost three years. Even ultrasonography of patients is not being done. Under PG bond, this medical college got two doctors Dr. Zarina Tamang and Dr. Benazir Mukhtar. Tamang was deputed in Giridih Sadar Hospital and Mukhtar was in Dhanbad Sadar Hospital. Both will now come back to medical and serve here.

With this new notification issued by the government, the shortage of doctors in almost all the departments of Dhanbad Medical College Hospital will be removed. There will be 6 doctors in Medicine, 5 in Paediatrics, 1 in Orthopedics, 8 in Surgery, 4 in Gynaecology and Obstetrics department, 2 in Ophthalmology, 2 in ENT, 4 in Anaesthesia, 1 in Dermatology department, 2 in Radiology, 1 in PSM, 1 in Anatomy, 1 in Physiology and 3 in Pathology.
