NEET paper leak case: CBI court hearing, 3 people sent to Beur jail
Latest Updated 05/07/2024: After questioning the accused in the NEET paper leak case, they were produced in the court of Patna CBI Special Judicial Magistrate Harshvardhan Singh on Thursday. 5 accused including Aman will remain on CBI remand.
CBI requested police remand for questioning Aman Singh arrested from Dhanbad. Also filed an application to extend the remand of Chintu, Oasis School Principal Ehsan Ul Haq, Vice Principal Imtiaz and journalist Jamaluddin. After hearing on both the applications, permission was granted for four days police remand of five accused. Mukesh, Manish Prakash and Ashutosh were sent to Beur Jail. After getting police remand, the CBI team took five accused including Chintu with them for questioning.
EOU ADG will submit the investigation report in the Supreme Court today
The EOU will submit its investigation report to the Supreme Court on Friday in the NEET paper leak case. EOU ADG Nayyar Hasnain Khan reached Delhi on Thursday for this. He himself will submit the report to the Supreme Court.
The report contains full details of the investigation done by the EOU in the NEET paper leak case. After the paper leak on the night of May 4, the SIT formed under the leadership of Patna SSP first investigated the matter. Phase-wise information has been given in the report. According to sources, the report specifically states that the NEET paper has been leaked. All evidence related to the leak of the question paper is also in the report. Apart from the code marked part of the burnt question paper recovered from a private school in Khemnichak, Patna, there are many other evidences including admit cards, documents. 13 people were arrested from this place. This also includes 4 candidates who memorized the answers of the question paper. On their information, the amount written cheques, passbooks, papers related to bank transactions and other important documents recovered in the raids conducted at several places in Patna are attached with the report.
Solver's arrest stayed, warrant taken for candidate
The court has stayed the arrest of solver, Jodhpur AIIMS MBBS third year student Hukma Ram, who appeared in the NEET exam in place of another candidate at Malighat in Mithanpura, till further orders. While hearing the anticipatory bail plea, District Judge Manoj Kumar Singh gave this order on Thursday. Here, the IO of the case, Mithun Kumar, on Thursday received a warrant for the arrest of candidate Raj Pandey, a resident of Naini area of Prayagraj, from the court of first class judicial magistrate. The IO also took a warrant for solver Hukma Ram from the court, but due to the stay on the arrest till further orders, the police will not take any action on it right now. The date of hearing on the anticipatory bail plea of the solver and the candidate is fixed on July 22 in the court of the District Judge.
