Latest Updated 13/06/2024: National Examination Agency (NTA) Director General Subodh Kumar Singh on Wednesday said that the grace marks given in NEET are being reviewed. The NTA clarified that the sanctity of the medical entrance exam has not been compromised and no paper has been leaked.
The NTA Director General said that 63 cases of using unfair means have come to light in NEET-UG. Of these, 23 have been debarred from the exam for different periods. The results of the remaining 40 candidates have been withheld

He also informed that on the recommendations of the panel, 12 candidates have been barred from appearing in the exam for three years. Of these, nine candidates have been debarred for two years and two candidates for one year each and the results of the remaining candidates have been withheld. He said that the number of cases of use of unfair means was 63.
The NTA Director General said that the investigation panel has not yet submitted the report. Based on its recommendations, either the exam will be conducted again for 1,600 students or an alternative mechanism can be devised to ensure that no candidate suffers any loss.
According to the NTA, out of the 67 candidates who scored 720 marks, 44 got marks due to correction in the answer key of Physics and six due to loss of time. Only two candidates got grace marks (718 and 719).
Another petition in court against grace marks
Amid alleged irregularities in the NEET results, a coaching institute on Wednesday approached the Supreme Court. The coaching institute operating under the name of Edtech 'Physics Wala' has challenged in the Supreme Court the granting of grace marks to more than 1500 students by the NTA.
