But now there is a possibility of delay in appointment. Recently, the High Court stayed the decision to increase the reservation limit from 50 to 65 percent in Bihar. In such a situation, until a clear guideline is not issued by the General Administration Department in this matter, the appointment will remain complicated. The dilemma regarding the vacancy is that whether reservation will be implemented at the rate of 75 percent including 10 percent reservation for the economically weaker section or as per the old calculation. Until the reservation percentage is finalized, the vacancy will not be prepared as per the roster. The department had expedited the action for appointment to the vacant posts related to the health department including doctors, dentists, nurses, ANMs, GNMs, CHOs and paramedical. The department had sought vacancy reservation in all the districts as per the roster. 1339 assistant professors are to be appointed under the Health Department and National Health Mission. 3523 specialist medical officers and 396 general medical officers are to be appointed. 1290 general medical officers are also to be appointed on contract basis.
