Latest Updated 21/06/2024: Doctors are not ready to work in Doon Medical College due to the lower salary package than private sector. Doctors have left all the departments including surgery, pediatrics, medicine, TB chest. Now doctors are not available even for interviews.

On Wednesday, interviews for 107 faculty and medical officers were scheduled in Doon Medical College. According to the details released on Thursday, 22 professors, 42 associate professors, 39 assistant professors and three medical officers were to be hired for the burn unit. Recruitment for a female medical officer was also announced. But, only 10 doctors came for the interview. Let us tell you that three to four times more salary is being given in private sector than in Doon Medical College. This is a big reason for disillusionment with government jobs.
