Latest Updated 01/06/2024: If everything goes well in the coming days, BBMKU (Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University) will get many other officers including the Vice Chancellor. The appointment process has been expedited by the Raj Bhavan and Jharkhand Public Service Commission.
The post of Vice Chancellor is running in charge since October 2023. At present, Vice Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar Poddar is working as the Vice Chancellor in charge. Registrar, Finance Officer and other posts are also vacant. Till the permanent appointment on these posts, the appointment has been made by the Raj Bhavan as in-charge.

It is discussed that many candidates qualified for the post of Vice Chancellor have been interviewed. After the end of the code of conduct, after completing various processes, the Raj Bhavan will announce the name. At the same time, JPSC has issued a preliminary merit list for regular appointment to the posts of Registrar, Finance Officer and other non-academic posts in various universities of the state and has sought objections from the candidates. After the objection, the final merit list will be released. After that the interview process will start.
If sources are to be believed, BBMKU will get permanent officers on many important posts between June and August. The Raj Bhavan had removed the then Vice Chancellor Prof. Shukdev Bhoi from the post. After that many other officials of the university were also removed. Due to the absence of permanent officials, BBMKU has to first send the agenda to the Raj Bhavan for the university level examination board, syndicate and other meetings.
At present, the university officials do not have the right to take policy decisions. Meetings are held in BBMKU after getting approval from the Raj Bhavan. Due to this, permanent officials are awaited.
