4351 permanent and 11 thousand 259 temporary appointments will be made
Latest Updated 08/06/2024: There will be recruitment on 15 thousand 610 posts in the Panchayati Raj Department. Panchayati Raj Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta said that 4351 posts are to be appointed on permanent basis, while 11259 posts will be appointed on contract. The target is to complete the appointment process soon. The Panchayati Raj Department will also play an important role in fulfilling Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's announcement of providing employment to 10 lakh people. The Panchayati Raj Minister was sharing information about departmental works with the press on Friday.
He informed that the appointment of block Panchayati Raj officials and auditors will be done through BPSC. The appointment of Panchayat Secretary, Lower Division Clerk, Executive Attendant and Lower Division Clerk in the District Council will be done through Bihar Staff Selection Commission. With the completion of appointment on various posts in the department, the development work of the villages will accelerate further. The minister said that Rs 3090 crore has been approved for the Chief Minister Solar Street Light Scheme in the financial year 2024-25. By August 2025, the work of installing 10 solar street lights in one lakh 9 thousand 321 wards of 8053 panchayats of the state will be completed.

Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayati Raj Department Mihir Kumar Singh said that till now a total of 1 lakh 65 thousand 903 solar street lights have been installed in 16397 wards of 4126 panchayats. 75 percent of the total amount for installing solar lights is from the 15th Finance Commission and 25 percent is from the Sixth State Finance Commission. Panchayati Raj Director Himanshu Kumar Rai and other officials were present on the occasion.

Majority of members present on no-confidence motion is valid
Additional Chief Secretary Mihir Kumar Singh said that the decision will be taken by majority of members present during the no-confidence motion against the Block Pramukh, Zila Parishad President. Presence of all elected members is not mandatory. He said that Patna High Court has given a decision in this regard that what procedure will be adopted for no-confidence motion against Pramukh-Deputy Pramukh and Zila Parishad President and Vice President. The department has sent this order to the districts. Majority of members present in the meeting is necessary to pass no-confidence motion against the elected Pramukh-Deputy Pramukh. The same procedure will be adopted for Zila Parishad President and Vice President also. In response to a question, he said that the government will not appeal in the Supreme Court against the decision of Patna High Court.
