Live Updates: stay on the decision to cancel bengal teacher recruitment
Latest Updated 08/05/2024: The Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the order of the Calcutta High Court. In this, the appointments of 25,753 teachers and non-teaching staff made in government and government-aided schools of the state were invalidated.

However, a bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra allowed the CBI to continue the investigation and also investigate the state cabinet members.
The bench asked the CBI not to be hasty in arresting any suspect during the investigation. Earlier, the court termed the alleged recruitment scam as a systemic fraud and said that it was the responsibility of the officers to maintain digital records related to the appointment of teachers and non-teaching staff.
