Latest Updated 20/05/2024: STF has arrested two members of a gang that extorted crores of rupees in the name of providing admission for MBBS studies and awarding B-Pharma, D-Pharma degrees.


Many people have opened medical stores by taking fake certificates and degrees from this gang. At the same time, in rural areas, quacks are running clinics with fake MBBS, Homeopathic and Ayurvedic course degrees obtained from them. Both the fraudsters made many such revelations after which STF teams have started investigation. Many people including the main member of the gang, Harishankar of Bareilly are being searched.

According to STF Deputy SP Avnishwar Srivastava, the fraudsters are Sachin Mani Tripathi, resident of ward number four of Deoria, and Shivanand Verma, resident of Gudamba, Kursi Road. 138 fake marksheets, certificates, many other cards, fake appointment letters have been recovered from them. These people were caught in front of the office of Pharmacy Council of India located near Lekhraj Market. Sachin Mani was also caught two years ago on charges of running a fake call centre.


Have given 100 fake degrees

Shivanand told that they have made recovery by giving more than 100 fake degrees. They have charged five to seven lakh rupees for MBBS and B. Pharma degree. In rural areas, Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh are charged for giving fake doctor's degrees.
