Give benefit of salary increase to retired employees also on 30th June by PHC latest news update 2024
Latest Updated 16/04/2024: Patna High Court has clarified in a decision that the employees retiring on 30 June should also be given the benefit of annual salary increase. Till now, there is a provision to give the benefit of annual increment to the employees who retired on or after 1 July.

A single bench of Justice Nani Tagia gave this order on the petition of several retired professors from AN College, Patna and BS College, Danapur. Applicants' advocate Shashi Bhushan Singh told the court that employees who retire on 1 July are given the benefit of increment, but employees who retire a day earlier are deprived of this benefit. Citing the decisions of the Supreme Court and other High Courts, he said that the employees retired on 30 June have been given the benefit of salary increase and ordered to pay pension.
On this basis, Justice Nani Tagia ordered to give the benefit of increment to the employees who retired on 30 June. Also the application was executed. Let us tell you that this rule of giving annual increment benefit to retired employees is applicable from 1 July 2006.
