Latest Updated 27/03/2024: In the matter of direct recruitment of Principal in the Education Department, the High Court has given instructions to continue the appointment process by keeping it subject to the decision of the court. Also, the government has been asked to the file a reply in the matter. The next hearing of the case will be on 20 June. The hearing was conducted by a division bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Justice Pankaj Purohit.

According to the matter, 692 posts of Principal in the Uttarakhand are being filled through direct recruitment. In this, eligible applicants can fill their applications online on the website of Public Service Commission Uttarakhand till 3 April. But organizations associated with teachers are opposing this process. He says that instead of direct recruitment, the posts of Principal should be filled through promotion. Teachers had challenged this process in the High Court in the month of January. The case was heard last Thursday. In this, the court has continued the process and submitted its decision.
