Live News Update: MGNREGA wages in Bihar will now be 245 Rupees
Latest Updated 29/03/2024: Wage rates have been increased under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) scheme. Wage rates have been increased by four to 10 percent in different states.
Under MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) in Bihar, now workers will get wages at the rate of Rs 245 per day. This increased rate will be applicable from April 1, 2024. At present the daily wage of MGNREGA workers in the state is Rs 228. In this way, MGNREGA wages have been increased by Rs 17. The Government of India has increased MGNREGA wages across the country. This increase has varied in different states. It is known that in this scheme there is a provision to provide work to a worker for a maximum of 100 days in a year.

Haryana will get the highest amount of 374 rupees
According to a notification, now under the scheme, unskilled workers will get the highest amount of Rs 374 in Haryana in the country. At the same time, the lowest wage of Rs 234 per day will be available in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
Increase by seven rupees in Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have increased by seven rupees, which is the lowest. Now here MGNREGA workers will get Rs 237 per day. The wage rate in Goa has been increased by Rs 34, which is the highest in the country. Now the daily wage in the state has become Rs 356. Whereas in Andhra Pradesh, the wage rate was increased by Rs 28 per day and now it is Rs 300. After the approval of the Election Commission, the Union Ministry of Rural Development released a notification regarding the change in wage rates. Under the plan, wage rates have been increased for 2023.
