The Commission took this decision due to the paper being leaked. According to BPSC, the new date of examination will be announced later. It is expected that the new date will be announced only after Holi. Nearly four lakh candidates had applied for the examination of both the shifts. Although attendance was 85. Commission took the decision after the FIR registered in EOU. BPSC had sought evidence regarding the paper leak from the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU). Apart from this, through the nodal officer deputed by BPSC, it was also asked to provide information on some points mentioned in the FIR of EOU. The Economic Offenses Unit had written a letter to the Commission saying that in the course of research, any type of information and sealed electronic devices cannot be shared with any office or unit as per rules.

In the FIR lodged by the Economic Offenses Unit, it has been said that the question paper was leaked even before the examination. It has also been mentioned by the Economic Offenses Unit that the question papers had reached the organized gang even before the commencement of the examination. After deliberating on these points, the Commission has decided to cancel the examination in the interest of the candidates. The Commission has not yet announced the new date of the examination. Under the third phase of teacher recruitment in Bihar, 87 thousand 774 posts are to be recruited. 4.63 lakh candidates have applied for this. 1 lakh 60 thousand 644 have applied in primary school, 2 lakh 13 thousand 940 in middle school, 1 lakh 44 thousand 735 in secondary and 61 thousand 986 in higher secondary. Many candidates have filled different application forms for different categories. In such a situation, the number of candidates appearing in the examination is around 5 lakh 81 thousand 305.


270 candidates were caught from Jharkhand


The third phase of teacher recruitment examination was conducted on March 15 in two shifts. Even before the commencement of the examination, EOU, in collaboration with Jharkhand Police, had raided Kohinoor Hotel and Marriage Hall located at Kurra, Padma and Barhi in Hazaribagh. During this time, apart from many rooms of hotels, more than 270 candidates were made to sit in the marriage hall and make them memorize the answers to the question paper. The question papers seized from the spot were matched with the question papers received from BPSC, which were identical. All 270 candidates were arrested. At present the EOU is investigating this matter. Investigation revealed that the question paper was leaked from a Kolkata-based printing press.
