Latest Updated 24/03/2024: BBMKU Dhanbad has learned a lesson from the low enrollment and vacant seats in UG and PG in the year 2023. The university has decided that in the year 2024, admission to four-year undergraduate courses (UG) and PG will not be taken on the basis of CUET (Common University Entrance Test) score. Enrollment in PG will be taken from the merit list prepared on the basis of intermediate marks, degree semester one and degree final marks. BBMKU has taken this decision in the interest of the students of Dhanbad and Bokaro. There is a possibility that the university may soon issue a notification in this matter.


50 percent seats were reserved for CUET: For the first time in the year 2023, enrollment in BBMKU was taken on the basis of CUET score. 50 seats of UG and PG were reserved on the basis of CUET score and 50 seats were reserved on the basis of marks. Only 3200 applications were received on the basis of CUET score for 50 percent seats in UG. Enrollment in UG is taken in 36 degree colleges of Dhanbad and Bokaro. In BBMKU, the total enrollment was only about two thousand students in PG and about 29 thousand students in UG. Due to CUET, a large number of seats remained vacant in both the courses.

Students had opposed CUET: CUET was organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The students had opposed enrollment in BBMKU through CUET, raising issues like setting up of CUET centers in other states, examination fees and other issues. State General Secretary of AJSU Student Union, Vishal Mahato has demanded from BBMKU to take admission in UG and PG without CUET.

The seventh foundation day of the university was celebrated on Saturday at BBMKU Dhanbad Main Campus. In the program organized in the university auditorium, everyone first remembered Binod Babu. Vice Chancellor celebrated Holi with teachers


Vice Chancellor Prof. BBMKU (Binod Bihari Mahato Koylanchal University) on Saturday in the administrative building of Dhanbad. Pawan Kumar Poddar played Holi with teachers. The VC wished the teachers a happy Holi by applying gulal. University officials, teachers, department heads and other personnel were present on the occasion.
