Latest Updated 15/02/2024: Technical Education Service Rules have been constituted in Jharkhand. Under this, a structure of posts has been created in all the 16 engineering colleges and 42 polytechnic institutes of the state including a Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). On the basis of this, a total of 568 posts will now be appointed in these institutions. Separate posts have been created for each institute.

- 4 posts to operationalize the Directorate of Technical Education
- Total 144 posts in 16 engineering colleges, 99 posts in each.
There will be a total of 144 posts in engineering colleges, a total of 420 posts in polytechnic institutes and four posts in the directorate. These posts will be filled on direct appointment, promotion or deputation. The qualifications and criteria prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have been made the basis of eligibility for the posts.
Out of the 16 engineering colleges in the recruitment process, two are in the government sector - BIT Sindri and Palamu.
There is one UCET, Vinoba Bhave University Hazaribagh, three at Ramgarh, Chaibasa and Dumka on PPP mode and 10 private colleges. There will be a total of nine posts in each institute. The recruitment process for these posts has also been decided. There will be direct recruitment of Director, Assistant Director (Physical Education), Workshop Superintendent, Assistant Professor, Assistant Librarian. Promotion will be on the basis of Assistant Professor (Senior), Assistant Professor (Selection Grade). Professors and associate professors will be promoted directly or indirectly.
Of the 42 polytechnic institutes in the state, 17 are government. Eight (Silli, Pakur, Gola, Chandil, Garhwa, Madhupur, Baharagora and Gumla) are running on PPP mode and 17 are running in the private sector. In the financial year 2023-24, studies have been started in eight newly constructed institutions, Hazaribagh, Godda, Jamtara, Khunti, Lohardagga, Chatra, Palamu, Bagodar (Giridih) on PPP mode. There will be a total of 10 posts in each institute. The recruitment process has been decided on these.
