Live News Update: 64 thousand vacancies for employees are vacant in Uttarakhand
Latest Updated 28/02/2024: In Uttarakhand, 64,802 posts of officers and employees are vacant in various government, aided and public undertakings. Unemployed youth are waiting for recruitment on these posts.
On the second day of the budget session, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Aggarwal placed this detail on the table of the House. It was told in the report that as of April 2023, 2 lakh 33,738 posts are sanctioned in various government and public undertakings. Regarding these, 168936 posts have been filled, the remaining are vacant. The government says that these posts have been identified on the basis of GO issued from time to time, in which there may be some difference, but for future, the heads of departments were instructed to update the details of the posts on IFMS.
The government is doing recruitment from UKPSC, UKSSSC and Medical Commission. To speed up the recruitments, Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission and Medical Services Selection Commission were formed in the year 2014, but despite this, the recruitments are not speeding up. Many recruitments were put on hold when scams came to light in July 2022. Only now has the Commission been able to complete the recruitment process on two year old releases. However, the Dhami government has been continuously instructing the commissions to speed up the process. Now, after the implementation of the code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections after a fortnight, there will be a brake on new recruitments.

There are 19943 temporary posts
19943 posts in the state are temporary, on which makeshift arrangements have been made by placing employees as outsourced, daily wage earners. Among these, the maximum number of posts are 17543 in Group-D, 1162 in 'C', 905 in 'B' and 333 in 'A'.
